Remember to relax and relieve stress

relax, stress, fun, tea, meditation, chocolate,

In our crazy, stressful, overly-busy and hectic lifestyle, people have lost the ability to slow down, relax, and nourish themselves. We keep trying to please everyone, our bosses, spouses, children, and random strangers on the street – to the point that we live in a constant state of agitation and hyper-defensiveness, and we lose the ability to slow down, relax, and enjoy life.

And getting rid of stress seems exceptionally difficult .

So, I'm here to remind you to take few minutes break ,every day, to relax. Also to share few things I do to help me distress .

Lets start with....

Green tea : Drinking green tea containing theanine has been shown to stimulate production of brain waves known as alpha waves, these are seen when a person is in a relaxed state. It also alters levels of neurotransmitters in the brain such as serotonin and dopamine that can affect moods.

Chamomile tea : This gentle herb can relax muscles and have a calming influence on nervous irritability and anxiety. Chamomile has a gentle calming sedative effect on the central nervous system. It is often recommended by herbalists to ease the impact of stress.

Dark chocolate : The use of chocolate as a cure for emotional stress has gotten new support from a clinical trial. The trial found that eating about an ounce and a half of dark chocolate a day for two weeks reduced levels of stress hormones.

Daydreaming : Daydreaming can really benefit lowering your stress as long as it is not too much. Just give your brain a 5 to 10 min break and imagine meeting your favorite actor/actress , or just that you are in your favorite/safe place.

Squeeze a stress ball: When the nerves connected to your brain are stimulated by pressing a stress ball, it relieves muscular tension and also helps to secrete endorphins that minimize the cortisol levels in the blood. This helps to improve your mood.

Be alone : Many people underestimate the importance of simply taking some time to be alone with your thoughts. In a world where anyone who knows you can demand your attention with the touch of a button at any time of the day or night, giving yourself a chance to stop and reflect on your own thoughts and feelings is more important than ever.

Stretch : Taking time to stretch means taking time out of your busy life to pay attention to your body and slow down. Moving slower allows you to take time to breathe, to notice your surroundings, to pay attention to yourself and decompress. When you are less active, your heart rate slows and you become calmer.

Take a walk : With the arrival of spring , April is the perfect time to get active and healthy by jump-starting a new walking routine. You don’t need to run for miles to enjoy the stress-busting benefits of exercise, moderate-paced walking can reduce tension and anxiety, in addition to providing a number of other health benefits.

Listen to music : Music has the ability to quickly shift our mood, affecting our subconscious mind where pesky negative thoughts feed on our fears and fuel the fires of stress.Listening to music is a relatively inexpensive, quick-acting solution that’s almost always available, and it could just save your life.

Dancing : While you are holding stressful events at arms-length, your also getting a little more in touch with your body. A big part of how dancing relieves stress is by helping you become more aware of where your body holds stress in the form of muscle tension, and how to release it.

Aromatherapy : When we inhale air, particularly air that is infused with essential oils, it goes to the roof of our nose. Olfactory receptors in the nose then transport the information to the limbic system. The limbic system is where our emotions are processed. One reason it is believed that aromatherapy can be helpful, especially when treating stress, is that it stimulates the release of certain chemicals in the brain that can help people relax.

I hope this article was help full. I am no expert or anything , these are just few techniques that I use that helps me reduce stress and anger.

I would love to know , what methods you use? And , if you use any of the above , How does it work for you? Do you agree with my list?
